I listen to quite a few gaming podcasts. The Next Generation podcast is the cream of the crop, though the 1up crew comes close. Colin, Jeremy and Gary do a great job covering the industry and are especially good at getting interesting guests and really getting in depth on issues, something the other gaming podcasts mostly fail at. They also eschew the sort of chest thumping machismo fanboi crap that pollutes so many of the gaming podcasts, and there’s a greater signal to noise ratio with them then with any of the other podcasts I’m familiar with. They tend to focus more on the business of games than they do on things like reviews, which is a good thing from my perspective. The one downside is that their run at Next Gen is coming to an end, so if you want to tune in you should start soon. The good news is they have a new podcast planned to replace the existing one and given their success with Next Generation I have high hopes for it. Anyway give it a listen if you’re interested in a well executed, mature gaming podcast.
